Help keep Herts History alive – Oral History event 28 November
Have you ever wanted to find out more about the lives of the people who live down your street?
Do you want to help record their stories for future generations?
Or do you have a story to share?
If so the Eighth in the East have a free oral history training event at Royston Town Museum you can’t afford to miss!
We’ll be running our next event on Saturday 28 November 2015 at 10.30am .
At the event we’ll take you through each stage of the process and provide you with all the equipment and professional training you’ll need to get started.
Volunteers can expect to develop many new skills during the process, including an introduction to interviewing and transcribing techniques, and gaining experience in audio recording within the exciting world of oral history.
We need good listeners of all ages, regardless of experience or preexisting knowledge, to help us record the testimonies of the characters who were witnesses to the Americans in East Anglia in the Second World War.
You can find out more about our work over on the oral history page of this site.
The event is free and runs from 10.30am – 1pm.
It will be held at Royston Town Museum, 5 Lower King Street, Royston, SG8 5AL.
