Remembering Royston

During the Second World War Royston found itself at the centre of a cluster of airfields, including Bassingbourn, Steeple Morden, Fowlmere and Nuthampstead. The exhibition will use first-hand accounts and photographs to explore the experiences of local residents and American 8th USAAF personnel during their time in the area.

Our exhibition at Royston Town Museum ran betweenNovember 2015 and January 2016. The museum was visited by nearly one thousand people at this time and feedback to the exhibition has been fantastic.

As well as the exhibition, we  also teamed up with the museum to organise a number of events, including a craft session and a 1940s Christmas party. You can find out all about these events via our Royston event page.
